Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning was undoubtedly one of the most intriguing, challenging, and rewarding projects we have undertaken.

The design of the parachute system faced the complexity of maintaining existing aircraft emergency procedures and skydivers’ emergency protocols while integrating a standard parachute system with an additional third parachute and a fuel-filled deployment bag.

This was not an easy task, but I (Allan Hewitt) thoroughly enjoyed conducting the initial 8 test jumps. Ray Armstrong subsequently assumed responsibility for the final test jumps, allowing me to refine my skills as the jump master before we presented the equipment to Tom Cruise for his approval.
